It is designed to be distribution neutral, following the Linux Standard Base and other relevant standards and conventions. The LPI 117-201 certification is the first of two Advance-level system administrator certification exams offered by the Linux Professional Institute (LPI). The 117-201 exam is designed to test the basic knowledge of a candidate on the Linux kernel, system startup, filesystem, hardware configuration, system maintenance, etc.
